[Allkpop] Wonder Girls to conclude "Be My Baby" promotions.

On December 21st, an announcement was made about how the Wonder Girls will soon be heading off to China and America for their overseas promotions.

Having released their second album back in November, the Wonder Girls will conclude their domestic promotions and head overseas, starting from January of 2012.

In fact, the girls will promote first in Taiwan from January 6th, before heading to Mainland China and Hong Kong to meet their fans. They will be singing the Mandarin version of “Be My Baby” while embarking on their promotions.

Afterwards, the Wonder Girls will begin their American promotions, following the release of their movie “Wonder Girls at the Apollo” in the first half of 2012.

It has been reported that Wonder Girls’ “Be My Baby” is the Korean’s most watched music video this year.

On December 21, YouTube, a world-renowned video sharing site, has announced a list of the ten most watched music videos and a list of the ten most popular videos, excluding music videos, in Korea in 2011.

According to the announcement, the Korean’s most popular music video was Wonder Girls’ “Be My Baby” among all music videos uploaded between January 1 and November 30.

The music video for “Be My Baby,” the title song of Wonder Girls’ second domestic album, has attracted attention with retro images shown through black-and-white images. It also has received an enthusiastic response by showing the dance created in collaboration with Jonte, who has choreographed the dance to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies.” Accordingly, it has become the Korean’s most watched music video within two months since it was first uploaded on November 5.

Hyun Ah (4Minute)’s solo song “Bubble Pop” ranked second and SNSD’s “The Boys” ranked third.

KARA’s Step, 2NE1′s “Lonely” and “I Am The Best,” T-ara’s “Roly Poly,” f(x)’s “Pinocchio,” Sistar’s “So Cool,” and Miss A’s “Good-bye Baby,” ranked from fourth to tenth. It shows that girl groups’ music videos were strong in this year.

Google Korea’s CEO Yeom Dong Hoon said, “K-pop music and music videos have been very popular worldwide that K-pop genre has recently been chosen as one of the music categories on YouTube. The popularity of K-pop, which is spreading out to more countries, could be achieved by domestic fans’ constant support.”

The Korean’s most watched video, excluding music videos, is one under the title of “My Hilarious Sister-in-law at My Wedding.” This video shows a woman, who seems like the bride’s sister, dancing along Orange Caramel’s “Magic Girl” at a wedding with a cute Micky Mouse costume on, and the bride suddenly wearing sunglasses and joining the dance.

Wonder Girls‘ Sunye surprised fans today with a story about Hyerim‘s crush.

On the December 17th cable channel MBC Everyone‘s ‘Weekly Idol‘, the Wonder Girls appeared for its Christmas special.

MC Jung Hyung Don asked the Wonder Girls, “Was there anyone you thought was your ideal person while staying at America?”

While the girls stayed silent, MC Jung Hyung Don pointed at Hyerim and said, “There are tears collecting in your eyes.”

As Hyerim became increasingly embarrassed, Sunye explained, “Before we came to Korea, we were filming a movie in America. There was a staff who strikes the slate. He was handsome and also had a Hawaiian style. He was a sweet guy. Every woman was eying him.”

She continued, “As it turns out, Hyerim said, ‘That guy looks really handsome.’ That’s why I helped her get to talk to him.”

MC Jung Hyung Don encouraged Hyerim to create a video letter to send to the guy. In the her message, Hyerim relayed her sweet thoughts, “Hi? How are you? It was really fun filming the movie with you.”

Comedian Kim Won Hyo of ‘Gag concert’ got emotional at the request for an autograph from Yeeun.

On the December 14th installment of KBS 2TV’s ‘Star Life Theater – Wonder Girls Special’, Yeeun, Yubin, and Hyerim were filmed participating in the pre-recording of KBS 2TV’s ‘Gag Concert’.

Before the pre-recording started, the Wonder Girls’ members sought out the comedians they like. Yeeun met with Kim Won Hyo gave him an autographed CD as a gift. Kim Won Hyo thanked her saying, “I really wanted it.”

Then Yeeun requested, “Give me an autograph please. My dongsaeng is a fan.” Kim Won Hyo gave her an autograph saying, “Who knew this could happen to me in my life? I got married too early.” (Dongsaeng = a gender-neutral term for a younger sibling or a younger acquaintance.

Kim won Hyo then added, “Honestly, this is the first time I received a CD from an artist. Wonder Girls are so nice and good-hearted; I hope many people give you lots of love.” Then he joked, “I am learning English too. Why? To have conversations with the Wonder Girls. I really like them.”

Wonder Girls Hyerim‘s fight to overcome the fear of the camera has been revealed.

On the December 14th of KBS 2TV’s ‘Star Life Theater – Wonder Girls Special’, the production team visited Hyerim at her officetel and capture on film her daily activities.

Hyerim shared that to get over the fear of the camera, she was practicing for the interviews by herself. So far, she would not speak well and look rigid when she gets in front of the camera.

Hyerim said, “I would get tense even by myself. I kept thinking it’s in front of the camera and repeated the same things and made a lot of mistakes but please be understanding”, revealing the video clip used for practicing for interviews.

In the video clip, Hyerim is showing a bright smile as she shows off her excellent english skill. As the video was rolling Hyerim stated, “If it’s weird please edit it out. It’s a practice I had done so it wouldn’t feel unnatural later when I do it for real” and revealed a cute shy side of her.

The members recently guested on YTN‘s ‘News and Issues‘, and expressed how glad they were to be back in Korea.

The news anchor asked the girls, “Which of your juniors do you think are doing really well right now?”, and without hesitation, they answered, “SECRET and IU.”

Member Yubin, who knew IU before her debut, remarked, “When I see her on stage these days, I still think she’s extremely adorable. I knew her since she was a trainee, and she sang really well back then as well. Her voice was always really charming and unique.”

Wonder Girls‘ Sunye has been attracting attention online due to the way she calmly handled an irrational fan.

On December 15th, a netizen uploaded an audio file of a conversation recorded between Sunye and a fan at a Wonder Girls’ fan signing. This fan brought up her recent confession of being in a relationship, and said: “Do you know that you going public with your relationship has caused an inconvenience to the group?”

Sunye replied, “Do you really think that?” to which the fan retorted, “Yeah, I think you were really short on thought with that decision.”

Calmly, Sunye responded, “Can you ask the other members? Because I’m curious myself as to what kind of inconvenience I have made to the group. I don’t think that I created an inconvenience to the members, but I do think that I hurt your feelings. I’m sorry about that.”

Wonder Girls‘ Yubin, Sunye and Hyerim have decided to reveal the true stats of their heights and weights.

On December 17th, the girls will guest on MBC Everyone‘s ‘Weekly Idol‘ for the show’s Christmas special.

MC Jung Hyung Don remarked to Yubin, “[From the old profile], you probably grew.” To which Yubin replied, “I shrank a little. In my profile, it states I’m 163 cm (64.2 in.), but I’m actually 161 cm. (63.4 in.). As I grew older, it seems my spine shrank.”

Sunye confessed, “I’m a little shorter than what’s stated on my profile,” while Hyerim also revealed, “My height and weight are both different. I’m a littler taller than what’s stated in my profile as I am 165 cm (65 in.), and I am actually 50 kg (110 lbs).”

Wonder Girls‘ Sohee recently revealed that she had dated once in the past.

Sohee guested in the Christmas special of MBC Everyone‘s ‘Weekly Idol‘ in which she talked about her first love.

She relayed a cute episode as she stated, “A close boy friend wrote a note that said, ‘Come over to my house tomorrow’, and put it in my sneaker. I went over to his house and ate tangsuyuk [sweet and sour beef].”

MC Jung Hyung Don caused laughter in the studio as he playfully threatened, “You can’t date now unless the uncle fans give permission. Your experience with love has ended with kindergarten.”

The other members also relayed a situation in which Sunye fixed up Hyerim with the handsome male staff Hyerim had fallen for during the filming of their American movie.

[Soompi News] Wonder Girls: “Popularity is Fleeting. We Don’t Regret Going to U.S.”

On December 15, the Wonder Girls appeared on YTN’s “News & Issue” and talked about their popularity, competition, and music.

The show asked why the girls decided to move to the U.S. when they were already enjoying so much success in Korea. “A lot of people think that way, but popularity can be such a fleeting thing. At some point you eventually lose it. If you insist on holding on to it, and give up on the career path that you long dreamed of—wouldn’t you regret it more that way? There are a lot of things I learned from the U.S. promotions. We’ll probably never enjoy the same level of success as back then (in Korea), but I don’t believe we lost anything and I don’t regret moving to the U.S.,” Ye Eun said.

The hosts followed up by asking, “You promoted in the States for a year and a half. In that span, your popularity in Korea took a hit, while SNSD did really well. Did you feel any pressure?” The girls carefully answered the somewhat sensitive question as Sunye said, “Instead of pressure, we felt sorry to the fans and family members who waited for us for so long because we couldn’t show them anything. The year and a half (in the U.S.) is a period we can’t trade with anything. It’s hard to judge whether it was a success or failure, but nonetheless, it was valuable experience for us.”

Sohee added, “The toughest thing about living in the States was the language barrier. I’m still taking English lessons every day working hard on my English.” Ye Eun also said, “We love meeting with SNSD. We trade CDs and our friendship just continues to grow.”

They were also asked if they like any of the younger artists lately. “We care about our group the most, but we’ve seen a lot of new girl groups lately and they’re all very talented.” Yoobin expressed her admiration for IU, as she said, “I used to train with IU when I was a trainee. I guess that makes me pay more attention to her activities and I think she’s really cute on stage. IU was always really good at singing and had really catchy vocals.”

The hosts also talked about Wonder Girls’ retro style of music and asked if that was the original concept they planned for. Ye Eun gave a surprisingly detailed answer, saying, “Music, or TV dramas or novels tend to have a certain level of content exchange with different eras. I think we get inspiration from earlier generations and older songs. Sometimes we totally revive the past era or sometimes we just bring the motif from the past and recreate it by mixing with the current style.”

The Wonder Girls will continue with their promotions in Korea by the end of the year.

Our beloved girls are coming to town!

The all-girl Korean pop group, Wonder Girls after taking a brief rest from their 27-stop tour in the US and Canada ended last July, is set to thrill the Malaysian fans with their hit song ‘Nobody’ at a live music concert to be held at Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands on 11 December 2010 (8pm).The Wonder Girls made up of five original members Sun-Ye, Ye-Eun, So-Hee, Sun-mi, and Hunya, were introduced through the program called MTV Wonder Girls which was filmed and directed by MTV. The group debuted in early 2007 with mini-album ‘The Wonders Begin’, but underwent a change of member just months later with Hyuna leaving and Yubin coming in. The new team released their first full album ‘The Wonder Years’ in September of which its main track ‘Tell Me’ was a huge hit.

The girls’ popularity is soaring ever since. They released single ‘So Hot’ in June 2008, followed by ‘Nobody’ a few months later which became one of the most popular songs of the year. Their unique choreography and dance steps – the highly additive finger point and tap dance sparked a viral dance craze around the world.The Wonder Girls marked their career milestone being the first act from Asia to enter the American music chart Billboard Hot 100 in 30 years with the infectious ‘Nobody’, which peaked at No. 76. Besides, Wonder Girls has scooped numerous awards including “Artist of the Year’ at the 18^th Seoul Musical Award, the Best Female Group and the Best Music Video, among others.

Wonder Girls won ton of exposure in the US touring with Jonas Brothers in 2009 at 45 live performances. The group is at such high levels in terms of dance, physicality, style, and vocal ability. Every jab, spin, and twist is polished, clean and timed with a high level of consistency.

In March 2010, new member Hye-Rim joined the group after Sun-mi decided to take on a study break. This does not stop the Wonder Girls from continuing to soar. I wanted to write as soon as we got off, but I was so tired and slept a little bit…then we had a meeting and ate…
It’s 8:30 PM here~ keke..so 11:30 in Korea?
I decided not to receive questions, so I don’t know what to write ke
First, we spent most of this past August in Korea and other areas of Asia!
We went to our Taiwan and China schedule..We spent our time in Korea leisurely ke
I met up with friends and family~ and enjoyed my hobbies ke
As you may all know, lately I’ve been really into baking^^;;
Every time I see malicious comments about my work tears fill my eyesㅠㅠ
But everyone who’s tasted it said that it’s delicious! So I’m very happy Haha kekekeke
Yubin Unni and SoHee got their license!
We haven’t been able to go for a ride because they got it yesterday in Korean date, but they both say that they are good drivers ke
And HyeLim has started to become interested in nail art, so the color of her nails keep changing keke
The good deed that SunYe secretly did recently was discovered….We didn’t know either! Our Leader Min is so cool! keke
Our SunMi is doing well! I baked her brownies, but I hope it’s good… I didn’t taste it before sending it…ㅠㅠ
We plan to stay in Seattle for two days and then go back to New York!
When we return New York’s Fashion Week will be waiting for us…! > _ < kekekeke
Being an outsider of fashion you can’t help but to be excited and look forward to it ke

Don’t be too discouraged about your practice exam results. The Standardized Korean University Entrance Exams are different..!

[News] Wonder Girls hurt with decreasing fan cafe numbers.

The Wonder Girls recently confessed their inner feelings on their overseas promotions and various other episodes experienced during their international tour.

How did you like your two weeks of promotion time in Korea?
Sohee: It’s been such a while since I’ve been back in broadcast halls and everything was so unfamiliar so I just stayed in the car. However, once I finally got up on stage, I realized I missed our fans.
YeEun: I was actually a bit hurt because our fan cafe numbers decreased along with the number of posts made after we started promoting in America. Going back to Korea, though, I was able to feel that we were still loved and supported so I was very moved. I’m thankful to the fans that have been there for us throughout time.

What does a first world tour mean to the Wonder Girls?
Sohee: It feels like going back to our rookie mindsets. We’ve done big performances in Korea but everything’s smaller in America performance wise so we feel like rookies. It’s an opportunity to go back to what’s really important.

What did you worry about the most as you prepared for your world tour performances?
YeEun: I was worried about mistakes. I mostly thought about studying English since we must comment on things in English. My main concern was having my expressions flow.
Hyelim: I have to keep up with the choreography so I feel very sorry to the members every time I make a mistake or forget something. I’m mostly worried about dancing the wrong move by myself.
Sohee: I think what’s most important is our synchronization with the other staff members. Our English isn’t perfect yet so I get worried when we have to work with foreign staffs.

What’s the most important preparation for a world tour?
Yubin: Stamina is everything. I heard that even men have a hard time with tours. I try to take care of my body by eating healthy meals such as herb chicken and whatnot (laughter).
Sohee: Our stamina is actually better than 2AM and 2PM inside the JYPE company so I’m not too worried about it. I just hope nobody gets hurt.

What was the hardest part during your world tour?
YeEun: We had an American performance right after one in Singapore. When Park Jinyoung was telling us the schedule, he started off by saying, “I’m asking your opinion because you guys are girls.” Sunye got her pride hurt so she stepped forward and agreed by stating, “It’s all right, we can do it.” I should’ve stopped her and said that this was too much but eventually we agreed to the performance. Taking care of our bodies is the hardest.

Is there something you stressed importance on while preparing for your world tour?
Sohee: The smaller the size of the performance, the more we try to converse with the audience. We try to make eye contact and have them dance and scream along with us.
Yubin: Our first performance was in a big gymnasium. It was the type of performance that allowed us to show unique sides of us. This time, we had a very small performance close to the audience so it was nice being abe to converse with them becaues they react quickly. Performing in a famous historical theatre was also a memorable experience for us.

Is it hard changing outfits?
Yubin: Men can take it off on stage but how can we do the same? Often times, we lack staff members, the location is usually narrow, and the time we’re given is short. However, we’re the Wonder Girls. We change when we spin, like Sailor Moon…

What was the most memorable to you on your world tour?
Sohee: During our 2DT performance in Atlanta, my outfit disconnected. It has two strings and one broke off. I tried to connect it but the other one broke off as well. I wasn’t able to dance properly and I became highly upset. I wanted to do well so bad but I was too nervous so I made a lot of mistakes.
Sunye: One time, our pllane to New York became canceled. I kept thinking no way, it was probably misreported but it was for real. We had to go to a performance with a lot of VIP guests and the only thought running through my head was wanting to jump on stage with whatever we’re wearing now and performing. I guess I just have that instinct. Reflecting back now, our experience in Korea helped us a lot.
YeEun: I stepped on my mic and fell over during a performance. Normally I’d get up right away but I was dazed out while on the floor. I was wondering what I was doing, where I was. After that, we no longer used Nobody mics (laughter). Because I stepped on it and fell over…
Yubin: YeEun must’ve been shocked. She just laid there, dazed. Sunye and I helped her up and laughed over it when we monitored the performance. We kept rewinding because it was so funny. Rewind… Rewind…

Do you think you’ve reached a certain position in America?
Sohee: I saw Lady Gaga being interviewed on CNN. Is that the status we have to reach? What’s considered a success? Everything seems so far away. Do we have to work hundreds, thousands of times harder than we are now to succeed?

Anything you’d like to say to Sunmi?
YeEun: I’m thankful for Sunmi for monitoring our performances. Unni is smiling but I really am not. I miss you.
Sohee: She monitors for us more so than anyone else so I’m always waiting for her monitor.
Yubin: I met her in Korea. I congratulated her on passing her GED. I got a GED as well so I was able to give her some advice. She’s such a smart friend… I sincerely hope that she achieves what she wants, I’ll always be supporting her. Fighting! And buy our CD, okay? (laughter)
Hyelim: During my trainee days, I was the closest with Sunmi. We’re the same age so we were very close. I miss her.

What does a concert mean to the Wonder Girls?
Sohee: The stage we love the most. I like broadcast shows as well but the fans that come to our concerts already know our songs and love them so it’s really exciting.
YeEun: The only happiness of my life lately. I think it’s fun because I can’t do it. Park Jinyoung always used to say that he’d be happy if he could die on stage and I’m totally feeling what he means now. Even if the audience is small…
Yubin: My vitamin. It’s not something I eat every day but eating vitamins give you strength. It’s the best nourishment tonic for me.
Hyelim: A give and take time with the audience. A time I can show myself the most.

Recently, Japan's MORNING MUSUME, Korea's WONDERGIRLS & China's IDOLGIRLS simultaneously appeared on Mainland TV shows, triggering a girl-group craze in the country.

In recent years, female idol groups have been in vogue. By chance, 3 representative artistes materialized during the same week, & we got to see each Asian group's characteristics.

MORNING MUSUME is a Jpop girlgroup who debuted in 1997 & has continually changed their personnel since. They currently have 8 members, including some Chinese additions with an eye towards expanding into China. Although starting later than Jpop, they have grabbed much of the China market in recent years. WONDERGIRLS's debut in a Mainland variety show featured the genuine charisma of Kpop idols.

IDOLGIRLS is the Mainland's first expanded girlgroup, with a family of 9 members. The last idol group to debut domestically, their latest appearance turned out to be a pleasant surprise. They are on par with the JKpop groups, with each member also possessing individual traits & no fake airs.

Earlier this year, the Wonder Girls established their own cosmetics brand, which also gave the group an opportunity to introduce the world to the latest addition to their group, Lim.

Korean idol group WONDERGIRLS had released their Taiwan Special Album in February. Yesterday, they & their hoobaes, including MISS A & other popular groups, held a concert at the TWTC Nangang. The 5 popular artistes alternated in the singing relay, raising the 7,000-8,000 crowd to an earthshaking HIGH.

The Korean Wave hit Taiwan as MBLAQ opened the show! The male quintet were dressed in white as they sang & danced, enlivening the atmosphere. Grabbing the baton next was the sweet girl group MISS A. JYP, deemed the Kop godfather, mentor to 5 idol artistes & conqueror of the Taiwan market, also tipped off his [performing] talent.

Of course, the concert climax belonged with WONDERGIRLS, who remained ultra-popular in Taiwan. Although they sang a somewhat unfamiliar 'Nobody', the atmosphere was still a superlative HIGH.

The event organizer had spend NT$30 million (US$314,000) to build a brand-new 'Mnet Ultimate Live in Taiwan' concert. The venue was even moved to the TWTC Nangang in order to let 7,000-8,000 people have fun together. It is also an attempt to use WONDERGIRLS's high popularity to let their hoobaes gain a foothold in Taiwan &, in turn, the world.

Assembling 5 Kpop groups & artistes, the 'Mnet Ultimate Live in Taiwan' concert rocked it out on the night of August 21 at the TWTC Nangang. While there was no less than 5 performing acts, it was 2PM who is arguably the most popular, drawing non-stop screams from start to finish. JYP, the boss, was also energetically singing & dancing, showing no signs of his years. The 5 performing acts performed 40 songs in total, irrepressibly conquering the 8,000 Kpop fans.

Due to an expanded performer roster, the 'Mnet Ultimate' concert began on time at 6:30pm. RAIN's disciples MBLAQ opened the show. The 5 group members also prepared solo spots. Following them was the recently debuted MISS A. Their first song was in Chinese, which connected them to the audience. They also each executed captivating dances. Although they sang only 4 songs, they did finish with the popular 'Bad Girl Good Girl'.

JYP, the boss of MISS A, 2PM & WONDERGIRLS, used his consummate dancing skills to demonstrate a doyen's magnetic pull. He even cleverly integrated Michael Jackson's dance steps & songs, leading to much acclaim! 2PM's appearance raised the whole audience's frenzy to new heights, with the fans dancing & shouting "2PM!" & shaking the TWTC Nangang to the core. As for WONDERGIRLS, they sang the most songs among the performers. The whole audience chorused along to the popular 'Nobody'. All the performers reappeared for the concert finale, bringing a successful end to arguably the largest 'Korean Wave' yet in the 'Mnet Ultimate' concert.

The whole 'Mnet Ultimate' concert mustered almost 500 Taiwan & Korean staff members. The organizer also prepared almost 150 meals backstage to feed the artistes. Furthermore, the artistes themselves worked hard on practicing their Chinese, Although not fluent speakers, they drew happy responses from the 8,000 fans. After the concert, all the performers will stay on in Taiwan for another day. They are scheduled to leave in 2 batches on August 23.

Held at the Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel & Spa, the press conference with the stars who graced the MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2010 was oh-so-brief. Still, those present, sure left a lasting impression with a few choice words and dance moves.

Although nervous about their performance later that day, local flavour Bunkface were excited about meeting the other acts - "We just met the Wonder Girls and they are wonderful!" Korean girl group Wonder Girls spent a few moments teaching the press how to do the dance featured in the music video of their hit song Nobody.

German rockers Tokio Hotel let the frontman Bill Kaulitz do most of the talking and he said that it's a "nightmare to have a stylist". Bill's much happier shaping his style of his own, thank you! Meanwhile, raven-haired California gurl Katy Perry, who emerged in a gorgeous pair of gold heels, said she would be love to work with the Wonder Girls and maybe "steal their outfits"!

Light rain for most of the night and the long breaks between each act didn't deter the 15,000-strong crowd from staying put in the drained surf pool for about eight hours. The concert started when Bunkface burst onto the stage with Bunk Anthem at 7pm. Sam, Youk and Pa'an got the crowd warmed up and jumping to the beat of songs Prom Queen, Ekstravaganza, and hit song Situasi.

The Wonder Girls added a little spice to the party by turning up in cages and breaking out the dance moves. Clad in black and white ensembles and sunglasses, the girls preformed a mixture of Korean and English tunes including Tell Me, So Hot and 2 Different Tears. For smash hit Nobody, the girl group dissapeared mid-song to change into figure-flattering shimmery gold dresses. At the end of their performance, the girls said "Kami cinta kamu" and that drove the crowd wild.

Technical difficulties prevented Tokio Hotel from taking the stage before 9.50pm but they made a spectacular splash when they finally did, with vocalist Bill Kaulitz in a futuristic outfit and an elaborate stage set-up, built to resemble a place from their imagined Humanoid City. They boys even flew in a motorbike to use as a prop on stage and made it rain sparks of fire by the end of their set! The group performed the most number of songs - 11. Among them were Noise, Human Connect To Human, Darkside Of The Sun, Monsoon (how appropriate since the rain refused to stop!), World Behind My Wall, Automatic, and an intimate rendition of Zoom Into Me.

By the time Katy Perry appeared, it was almost midnight but the fans who'd waited it out were treated to a stage dressed with all kinds of sweet goodies - a gigantic banana split, cupcakes, strawberries, lollipops and later, gingerbread girls. The beautiful singer kept the energy up with up-tempo crowd-pleasers California Gurls, Waking Up In Vegas, I Kissed A Girl and surefire future hit, Peacock. She also gave the audience a taste of her guitar-playing skills when she sang One Of The Boys and Thinking Of You. It certainly was a sight to behold... Katy strumming a guitar, singing her heart out while wearing a tutu. The night ended with a bang with Hot N Cold, fireworks and giant black and white balls released into exhausted but very satisfied crowd.

That's quite a good review but the author didn't mention about WG's encore performance later that night. The crowd sure having so much fun despite of the non-stop rain and the long delay in between each acts.

[NEWS] Wonder Girls Talk About Their U.S Tour After Returning to Korea

On August 19th, SBS One Night TVStar interviewed the Wonder Girls on the set of their new EXR photo shoot in Korea where they expressed their thoughts about their recent U.S Tour.

Looking especially adorable with the clothes from the new Pucca line by EXR the girls said,

“We are so happy to be in Korea. From Washington DC to Vancouver and Toronto, we had about 23 or 24 concerts in total. The shouts [at the concert] were so loud that we couldn’t hear. We think the audience liked that our dances were easy and simple to learn”.

They also joked about all the travelling they had to do and shared their feelings about the last concert of the tour, which was held in Hawaii, by saying,

“During the tour, we were very busy and constantly had to move from plane to plane to get to our next venue. We moved so much that it felt like our organs were even moving […] We thought we wouldn’t cry at our last concert in Hawaii but did end up crying. If we had been by ourselves, we wouldn’t have been able to bear it”.

Besides talking about their now finished U.S tour the girls also talked about their new look for EXR with Sohee revealing, “I’m a little embarrassed having not done this type of hairstyle in a while”, as she sported a cute look resembling the cartoon character, Pucca.

A few hours ago we wrote about Hyerim’s love for CN Blue being exposed on the next episode of Mnet Made in Wonder Girls, but it looks like there is more to look forward to as Sunye and YeEun go on a fun filled date with Jokwon and Seulong, plus Yubin’s fashionista status gets challenged.
In the next episode of Mnet Made in Wonder Girls we’ll get to see the girls and 2AM on their day off after the Wonder World Tour concert in Las Vegas back in July.
On this day, Sunye and YeEun chose to spend their day with the lovely Jokwon and Seulong in an amusement park. Taking a selca to start off the fun day, these best friends went on the log ride, drop tower and a roller coaster. As those who love amusement parks may know, there are some rides where pictures get taken while the passengers are screaming out loud. Well, thanks to Mnet we’ll get to see those funny pictures from Wonder Girls and 2AM and also the uncontrollable happiness of Sunye as she visits an amusement park for the first time in two years.
On this episode, Yubin’s fashionista status will also get challenged by YeEun who said, “If you can make the clothes that I pick for you look fashionable, then I will acknowledge you as a fashionista”, and then proceeded to choose the tackiest clothes for Yubin.

The TV show for the group Wonder Girls on Mnet, Made in Wonder Girls, which will be aired on the 20th of August, reveals the behind story of their World Tour in Singapore, Las Vegas, Chicago and many other cities.

During the show YeEun talks about fellow member HyeRim and says “She loves idols too much. She is recently into CN Blue. She smiles by herself while she does her make up because she is thinking of CN Blue.”

HyeRim’s face turns red when YeEun exposes her love for idols. The viewers are able to get a good laugh from looking at the interaction of the two members in the group and also get a chance to see how adorable HyeRim can be.

The show will air at 6PM (Korean Standard Time) on Mnet on the 20th of August, Friday.

Sunmi's agency JYP Entertainment have revealed what Sunmi has been doing recently, "Sunmi often visits the company these days. It has been a long time since she last came here, and she often visits and hangs out with the trainees and practice with them and share stories. Sometimes, she would even greet fans and autograph for them in front of the company's building" The official said.

He followed, "To be honest, since she has been active with the Wonder Girls in the previous years, she has failed to prepare much for her studies and lacked preparation, But she has now focused on her studies more and has been studying hard for her SAT exams".

The official also revealed what the future plans are of Sunmi. "She will not be active with the Wonder Girls for now, she will be studying and majoring in Arts after her SAT exams, and she will be preparing as much as possible for her studies, she will be taking up proficiency exams and she is doing her best preparing for them, we will do our best to help her as well".

Sunmi left temporarily the Wonder Girls back in 2009 when the group was active in the U.S., After she left, she revealed that she wanted to stop her activities for now with Wonder Girls surprising fans, and the reason why is because she wanted to continue and focus in her studies.

Since then, New member Hye Rim filled in her spot, but Sunmi still shares a close relationship with her members and would occasionally exchange messages on Twitter.

Sunmi has passed her GED exams last May and she will be preparing for her SAT exams and college entrance exams afterwards.

Their autograph session will be at Y17 Taipei City Youth Recreation Center on August 19 (today) 6:30pm. To thank the fans for their enthusiastic support for the 'Mnet Ultimate' concert, the 2 idol autograph sessions & the flight details [are provided] so as to let the fans make their star-chasing arrangements.

This unprecedented, 5-performer mega concert, transportation & various other preparations made the event organizer fret a lot. MBLAQ & 2PM are making their first trip to Taiwan. They did not make any special requests except for expressing a desire to taste Taiwanese dishes. WONDERGIRLS, who was here in April for promotions, reminisced about the steamed dumplings. On 19th August, NCsoft will be signing a new contract with Korean entertainment company, JYP Entertainment, for its various performers to be the spokesperson for NCsoft games. Celebrities under JYP Entertainment include current popular groups like Wonder Girls, 2PM and missA. If you did not know, JYP himself used to be Korean pop sensation, Rain's mentor. Both companies have been working together since 2003, with the most recent project seeing Wonder Gals promoting Aion: The Tower of Eternity in Korea (with their own in-game avatars). While no details of the contract are currently concrete, one main agreement will be that all celebrities under JYP Entertainment will not be restricted to promote just1 NCsoft title at any time.

I had the chance to ask the Wonder Girls some questions about their unique style, so check out this interview with the Wonder Girls:

How do you decide what to wear as a group for your videos and concerts?
Wonder Girls: We usually have a meeting and discuss the style concept with our stylist, Wonder Girls members, JY Park (our producer) and also our choreographer. It's a team effort!
It's funny because now when we see an outfit or an accessory, all of us automatically know which member it will look good on.

Do you work with a stylist, or do you choose your own looks?
We do usually work closely with a stylist, but the concept/design for our last single "2 Different Tears" was done by our wonderful stylists, Sohee & Yubin. The rest of the members were so impressed with their work!

How would you describe the style of your group?
Our style is basically "funky/retro." And depending on the members, some will go for the more cuter style, and members such as Yenny & Yubin might do more of a sexier look sometimes. But it all depends on which event and what outfit, but one thing for sure is that we try to look fabulous as a group, while expressing our individual characters!

What can we expect from you guys in the future?
We are currently on a promotional tour throughout Asia visiting countries such as China, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Korea. And after that, we will come back to the US, and work on our album that is scheduled to be released in January. We are so excited!!!

Earlier this year, the Wonder Girls released a make up line named after the group “WG by Wondergirls” by cosmetic brand, MU:UZ. Debuting with their newest member, Hye Lim.
Hye Lim and Yoo Bin were seen wearing the exact pair of heel by Gucci which wa worn by style blogger, Sea of Shoes’s Jane Aldridge and her mum, Judy Aldridge of Atlantis Home.
Those Gucci heels are from its Spring 2009 collection. Available in various colors, jade, black, coral, blue, light pink and gold. Especially loving the light pinks! Retailing from US$508.00 – US$ 534.24 on various sites.
Seems like Wonder Girl’s stylist been putting them in lots of Fleamadonna’s clothing!
Yubin, Ye Eun and So Hee have been spotted wearing Fleamadonna’s Spring/Summer 2010 garments at TV shows as well as the press conference held in both Taiwan.

Wonder Girls attended the Bazaar Charity Gala in Shanghai held in late April 2010.
Yet another celebrity wears Diane von Furstenberg’s Josun Dress in Miranda Ruffles Green. Ye Eun (Yenny) is the youngest star among the rest who have worn the dress— Kim So Yeon (김소연), Han Ji Hye (한지혜) etc..
On the other hand, Sun Ye (Sun) wore a Moschino dress which we have not seen on the red carpet before. The dress is from Moschino’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection.
Having released their latest single, 2 Different Tears in 3 different language (English, Mandarin, Korean), the Wonder Girls made a comeback on Mnet’s M! Countdown on May 20, 2010.
The girls were dressed in denim x lace outfits for their comeback. Ye Eun/Yenny wearing Dolce & Gabanna’s Black Lace Denim mini dress from its Spring/Summer 2010 collection.
Sohee is caught wearing Gerlan Jeans‘ body suit for their album art photographs. From Gerlan Jeans‘ Spring/Summer 2010 collection, the body suit features floral prints all over.
In the latest episode of MBC Music Core, Wonder Girl’s Sunye and Yubin as well as C.N Blue’s Yong Hwa took the place of the usual SNSD MCs, Tiffany and Yuri. Sunye sports a dress from Moschino’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection.
4 members of Wonder Girls namely Sun Ye, Yubin, Hae Lim and Sohee were seen Incheon International Airport on June 1, 2010 bidding goodbyes and ready to leave Seoul, Korea. Sohee once again releases the “fashionista” inside her. Carrying a pale green Balenciaga Motorcycle bag as well as AnOther x Colette by Gareth Pugh for Incase laptop case.
The 13″ Laptop Sleeve designed by Gareth Pugh for Incase retails for £76.00 on shop.anOthermag.com and USD$140.00 on Opening Ceremony. The laptop sleeve is ideal for 13″ Macbook Pro/Macbook but it fits any 13 inch laptops.
Sunye wore Graeme Armour’s Frill Bra which is retailing for USD$370.00 on Opening Ceremony.
Known for the edginess in his work, Graeme Amour have worked closely with Alexander McQueen for 3 years and is a Central Saint Martins graduate. The Scottish designer have also been courted by Emanuel Ungaro as well as Karl Lagerfeld.
Celebrities like Lady GaGa, Cheryl Cole and Kate Bosworth have been seen in his designs previously.
In the album art of Wonder Girls‘ latest single, 2 Different Tears, we were teased with photographs of Wonder Girls‘ members holding retro-television. Ahn Sohee (안소희) was spotted wearing a pair of pink sunglasses.. check out who designed it!
The pair of sunglasses are from Cutler & Gross x Giles Deacon Spring/Summer 2010 which took the limelight and made waves among the blogosphere and the fashion industry.
It retailed for €330 (approx. USD$407.073) on Colette.fr, no longer available.
While the Wonder Girls were back in South Korea for the promotions of their latest single, 2 Different Tears, the girls joined Super Junior in an episode of variety show, Come To Play which aired on May 31, 2010.
Ye Eun/Yenny (예은) wore a dress from Johnny Hates Jazz designed by Choi Ji Hyung (최지형). The pastel purple dress is from Johnny Hates Jazz’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection.
It’s leader Min Sunye (민선예)’s turn now! Wearing a pair of absolutely retro eyewear..

From House of Holland x Linda Farrow! The eyewear is featured in House of Holland’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection. The Plexiglass sunglasses is available in orange and green translucent for USD$232.12 on Lindafarrow.co.uk.
On May 29’s episode of MBC’s Music Core, the Wonder Girls performed their latest single, 2 Different Tears.
3 members of Wonder Girls, namely Yubin, Sunye and Ye Eun (Yenny) were sported in Lisa Marie Fernandez’s swim wears. They wore The Elisa in yellow/purple, The Leigh Maillot in turquoise/neon yellow and the Elisa Dress in purple/black respectively.
The swim wears retails for USD$345.00-USD$435.00.
The ladies were also seen wearing Lisa Marie Fernandez’s swim wear to their recent press events held in Hawaii.
In the album jacket/photos, Sunye sports Patricia Field x Keith Haring Keith Haring Three-Eyed Face Print Silk Scarf. Retailing for USD$72.00, she completed the look with metallic leggings and a paisley innerwear.

KARA, Girls’ Generation, FTIsland, BROWN EYED GIRLS… All of these South Korean units are starting to come to the Japanese music scene. It was a spark no doubt started by Tohoshinki and now many K-pop artists are looking to make a name for themselves in the Japanese market. With Tohoshinki on hiatus, 2010 will definitely be a time when the different Korean groups will be looking to take their spot in Japan.

Back in July when we went to Seoul, South Korea, we found out that they really don’t have anything like a large scale CD store such as HMV. On top of that, even the main stores had Japanese tourists. Korea is considered a music distribution center, but for them a big hit might sell only 50,000 copies.

This is nothing compared to the “buying CD” culture that has taken root in Japan.
For the Korean music scene this would obviously seem like a better market.

[NEWS] Wonder Girls guest on Chinese variety show “Happy Camp”

There’s no question that the Wonder Girls have been sweeping the international audience by storm for a while now – with the Nobody wave still gathering momentum in the Orient, these young ladies are making a name for themselves with a tour around East Asia, hitting up Singapore and China recently for international promotions.

Last week, the Wonder Girls visited Hunan for the recording of Happy Camp (快乐大本营), a popular variety show in China. Aside from teaching the Nobody dance to the hosts and revealing their individual talents, the idols also showed off their Mandarin language skills to a receptive audience. Although the teaser is only a minute and a half long, we see Sunye and Lim’s cute poses, Yeeun performing Lian Jing Ru’s Too Bad It Isn’t You (可惜不是你) and more. Check out this preview before the broadcast next week:

The Wonder Girls will be performing in Taiwan next week for Mnet Ultimate Live, joining labelmates 2PM and miss A as well as Park Jin Young himself for two concerts in Taipei and Kaohsiung.

In related news, a recent Naver survey documented nearly 300,000 foreign Wonderfuls, making this pop quintet the most followed Korean girl group outside of their home country. Good to see that their global promotions are paying off!
